And so, the Apple iPad has arrived. Probably the most hyped gadget since the iPhone. Apple doesn’t manufacture category-creating products. Rather, it looks at an existing consumer electronics category, studies what the competitors have fouled up, and then releases a piece of gear that makes everyone think it’s created an entirely new product category. The iPod did this with portable audio players. And of course the iPhone has improved upon the basic mobile phone concept so dramatically, we can’t even survive buying a phone without serious app support, be it of the Apple or Android persuasion. The iPad is also sleek and portable, sports a palpably speedy processor , and dines on battery power with the appetite of a strung-out celebrity ingénue in emotional distress. That’s the iPad’s hardware story – but hardware isn’t even half the story. Indeed, what really makes the Apple tablet kick ass are the apps that have been optimized for the platform. We’ll explain in detail shortly, but for now we’ll just state that the extra screen real estate afforded by the jump from iPhone to iPad opens up a bold new world of user-interface opportunities. While UK pricing for iPad apps has already hit the App Store, there’s still no definitive word on exactly when the hardware itself will arrive. We have, however, secured a 32GB, Wi-Fi-only American unit. We’ve run it through a gauntlet of intense activity, and can now draw conclusions on where it triumphs and where it leaves us wanting. There’s more to know but right now 5Portals is only gonna give you an brief summary.
Who would have ever thought in the 18th century that just by seating at home, one can know anything happening in the world? But, Internet made it possible. Who would have thought that children can play any of their favorite games at home? The Video games made it true. But, frankly, even in this dynamic and revolutionary world, who has ever dream it even that your games and entertainment options can be served without the headache of remote control? None of us, right? But, Microsoft made the possible. No control of remote yes, it’s a truth that now in your life there won’t be any dependency even of the remote controllers. The motion controller is inn now. It’s just a small black device which is having this magical capacity to handle your TV and computer entertainment just by your motions and actions. It’s so small that it can lie just beneath your TV set. How come it’s possible actually Microsoft says there are a group of sensors which will allow wide range of actions of yours and also the persons seating beside you, as it’s having multiple users allowance. There are some mind blowing techniques of camera, depth sensor, microphones and special software to build a three-dimensional map of body movement. Not only the body movement, can it also also respond to voice commands, directions, and a change in the player’s tone of voice. What are the features the stunning motion sensors’ Xbox is full of surprising features like auto sign-in for players to Xbox Live which will also cover the complex facial recognition, and sports extremely detailed body tracking which will make to follow the individual movements of separate limbs.
To anyone who says video games can’t educate young people, Dante’s Inferno begs to differ. This upcoming game aims to translate the epic first part of The Divine Comedy into a full-blown action God of War-style slaughter-feast Wild storm has seen fit to add Dante’s Inferno to their long list of videogame-based comic adaptations.
Now you will be exposed to helpful literary tidbits like “killing people is bad for the soul” and “gee, everything was really foggy and abstract in the 14th Century.Dante’s Inferno the mini-series is more or less a direct adaptation of the videogame. It begins with a look at Dante and his lady love, Beatrice. While Dante is away covering the Holy Lands in heathen blood, Lucifer shows up to whisk Beatrice away to Hell. If Dante has a snowball’s chance in Hell of winning back Beatrice, he’ll need to bring something much more potent than a snowball to win her back. I assume the game will wind up about being as faithful to The Divine Comedy as God of War has been with Greek mythology. The comic doesn’t center itself so much on Dante’s violence as it does Beatrice herself. Given that the comic and the game are essentially following the same story path, this focus on Beatrice may wind up being the comic’s real saving grace. It’s hard to justify reading this book if it’s merely going to rehash the plot minus all the fun interactive elements. Hopefully Gage’s script will manage to blaze its own trail. The art is also very problematic, probably more so than any flaws in Gage’s scripting. For what may be the first time in the history of videogame-based comics, the art on the cover is actually reflective of the art within. ill give it an 9 out of 10 stars it deserves that I think.
In response to the devastating 7.0 earthquake that hit Haiti earlier this week, many foundations have created simple ways to make a donation to the relief effort via the tech we love. With tech access at your fingertips, you have many different options for making a quick donation toward earthquake relief in Haiti.
Unconvinced that giving is the way to go? See the collateral damage yourself by viewing Google Earth’s before-and-after photos of Port-au-Prince.
For a much better use of your unlimited text messages than voting for your faves on American Idol, send a donation instead. Mobile donations provider mGive has teamed up with the American Red Cross and the U.S. State Department to launch a text-message campaign aimed at generating donations. To participate, simply text the word “Haiti” to 90999 to donate $10 to the Red Cross. Your cell phone bill will be directly charged the $10 donation amount.
Musician Wyclef Jean’s grassroots organization Yéle Haiti has initiated a similar text-message campaign: Text “YELE” to 501501 to contribute $5 toward food distribution and emergency relief mobilization. Like a donation under the Red Cross program, a donation through Yéle Haiti will be charged directly to your cell phone bill.

To the depression of many, America will not be debuting those solar-powered golf-cart cars that we see in the futuristic movies and animations by the end of the decade – it’s just not happening and it doesn’t look for fashionable or comfortable anyway. We’re not getting those super fast fueling stations either. We even have to let down those economy-minded people and let them know the country isn’t banning and trashing our high-performance, gas-guzzling cars either. But what will be happening is so much better!
The 2010 Detroit Auto Show is displaying the real future of the U.S. auto industry on its floor and it’s looking oh so good!
The newest models of autos are a mix of cars and trucks updated and improved to meet the needs of American drivers and help slowly but surely eliminate dependence on expensive gas. Most hint at the rapidly increasing number of hybrid cars being released onto the roads that include plug-ins and all-electric vehicles. However, don’t start forgetting where those gas stations are in your town quite yet because it’s going to be a while before the majority of cars on the street that hold traditional gasoline engines are phased out.
Still, just looking at these cars makes you want to trash your old car and run to the nearest dealer. And it’s not just because of the built in GPS’s either.
Honda CR-Z
It used to be that driving an economy car meant you’d be in the slow lane on the parkway while sports cars left you in the dust but not anymore.
Going on sale this summer, the sporty, two-seat Honda CR-Z is a fuel-sipping hybrid but gives the driver the ride of their life. It’s the first hybrid of its kind to have a manual transmission and is sure to lead the way for hybrid powertrains. It has a 1.5-liter four cylinder gasoline engine and a Integrated Motor Assist electric motor that gives 122 horsepower and 128 pound-feet of torque – that’s 24 more horsepower than the Insight. Even though the mileage isn’t groundbreaking it’s trendy, looks amazing and shows that hybrids are definitely headed in the right direction.
Audi e-Tron
Audi has officially outdone themselves with this new model. It’s sleek, it’s sexy, it’s trendy, it’s…it’s everything! Seeing this car on display makes you want to grab a bowl of strawberries and cream, lay on top of it and just stare at the road…forget about driving it – with this car you own it.
But besides its amazing look, the Audi e-Tron is said to be capable of 0-60 mph in less than six seconds and has a top speed of 124 mph. Even the driving range is up there, coming at an estimate of 155 miles. However, the large e-Tron that had four electric motors, this one has just two that power the rear whets with lithium-ion batteries that continue to support the car.
The larger version of this car is to go into production in 2012 but the specific model may differ from the one pictured here.
Either way, the cars of the near future are looking extremely promising so get out there and start looking because you’re not going to want to miss this show!
Just as the news that Google was breaking into the smartphone business finally died down, the rapidly growing company has thrown another surprise at us. Google has revealed that they are getting into the electricity markets with the new branch, Google Energy, says CNET. It was formed late last year. Niki Fenwick, a Google representative, told CNET, “Right now we can’t buy affordable, utility scale, renewable energy in our markets. We want to buy the highest quality, most affordable renewable energy wherever we can and use the green credits.”
The firm wants more flexibility to pursue a carbon-neutral, alternative-energy centric policy for pulling in the necessary global network of date centers and servers. Google may, for their smallest plan, create an energy buying and selling function that allows a more selective power origin to run their international facilities. However, right now Google wants more flexibility and has no definite plans to buy, sell, or generate power.
Google, having been an avid participant with alternative energy and smart grid space for a long time, already has their own alternative-energy team under Google.org that invests in startups like AltaRock Energy and Potter Drilling.
They’re engineers have also designed a new type of mirror for homes that will upgrade the effect of solar-energy collection along with the Google PowerMeter, a home-energy tracking software whose technology will match that of its hardware counterpart.
Even though they’re definitely doing their research, it’s not clear whether or not Google will go forward with the power-generation business in spite of their famous do-it-yourself motto. And with the idea of alternative energy still being a tough cookie to sell it may be in the future for Google to power not just their own businesses but enhance international utilities with solar, wind and geothermal methods.
Want an Iphone but hate At&t. Well you might just get lucky. Reports are saying that At&t Iphone contract is reportedly scheduled to end June 2010, and the Iphone could be available to mutiple carriers.
AT&T holds the exclusive contract for selling the iPhone in the U.S. until 2010, and some industry observers have speculated that Apple would strike a deal with Verizon Wireless, the nation’s largest carrier, if Apple can get its phone compatible with Verizon’s network.
Since Verizon’s current network doesn’t support the iPhone, Apple would either need to wait until Verizon completes its transition to 4G, by way of its Long-Term Evolution (LTE) technology — a process that could take several years — or it could redesign the iPhone to work on Verizon Wireless’ existing infrastructure.

Launched last Thrusday, The PSPgo is the latest addition to Sony’s hardware family (the fourth generation PSP), but how much better is the PSPgo than its predecessor? From the looks of it, not that much better.
The design: size matters!
lets take a closer look at the newly redesigned PSP.
Its sleek, its small, its shiny… and the buttons are uncomfortably too close or too small or too soft.
the PSPgo boasts a 3.8-in screen, compared to the original’s 4.3-in. Albeit smaller, the screen is still the same resolution 480×272.
It isn’t a notebook, even if it does have similar characteristics.
On the back is a camera which could be used for anything really, since you can go back to it later and cut and paste the parts you liked into other parts of your Courier.
The Screens are around 7-inch, it is touch screen. The Courier is exactly what was needed to satisfy many people and their fast paced lives.
You can use a pen like object to draw, or you can use your fingers, the way you use it is by writing, flicking, or drawing on the screen.
You can watch the video below to catch a glimpse of this ‘must-have’ gadget coming next year. Unlike most laptops, this sleek and stylish tablet is not bulky and can conveniently fit in a small briefcase and most handbags.
